PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and seat guests with warm, friendly service, make a good first impression, and ensure they are satisfied when they leave. Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service.
- Knows floor plan, reads server assignments and knows table numbers and sections.
- Checks menus for cleanliness and freshness, checks dining room and floors for cleanliness.
- Provides a smile and friendly greeting for guests, confirms the number of guests in the party, asks guests for a seating preference and/or special needs, walks with the guest to their place at the table, assists if necessary and informs the server or manager of any special needs.
- Presents menus to the guests and explains the specials of the day, informs the server of the new guests and returns to his/her station, checks dining room for guests who are leaving, directs busser to clean tables and/or to distribute bread and water of the new table.
- Thanks guests when they are leaving, asks them to return and asks if the guests had a pleasant dining experience.
- Must be able to field complaints.
- When closing, collects menus and inspects for cleanliness and prepares the station for the next day.
- Performs duties that require standing and moving throughout the dining room for up to 8 hours or more.
- Communicates with all guests with confidence and encourages them to be unique and special.
